REAR PADS
1 1

2 posts in this topic

Kadjar just been motd today first one with FSH rears have never been mentioned when its been serviced , mileage is 31233 mainly motorway use. front pads no issue but have advisorys for the rears, normally I replace fronts maybe about twice at this mileage but the rears wearing out before the fronts is causing me concerns, does this highlight a fault maybe sticking calipers or is this normal.

  • Rear Brake pad(s) wearing thin (1.1.13 (a) (ii))
  • Rear Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (1.1.14 (a) (ii))

Thanks

Assuming you have Auto Handbrake, I would contact Renault Customer Service for their comments.

As you have no control over how the handbrake operates you can have no responsibility for premature wear.

If they try to claim that such wear is a feature of auto handbrakes I seem to recall a court ruling along the lines of a feature has to be present across a range of vehicles and be of benefit to the owner.

Good Luck.
