You most likely shouldn't need to. You can install the system and any apps from the R-link website. These could constitute a backup.

 

Once logged in to the R-link site.

https://gb.rlinkstore.com/myproducts

 

Choose "My Products" from the lefthand menu. Then click "Manage my products" in the right main section. There should be a list of items (I have R-LINK and Map). Click the "Manage" button for the R-Link. From the pop-up you can select any item to install.

Thanks Manns. I'll check this out later. Does anyone know how big the tomtom installation for maps are and where there stored, seeing that the r-link has only 1GB storage. I'm sure tomtom maps full Europe would be bigger than this.

They are about 4GB and will be downloaded to the USB stick when ,if ever,available
