Update: Booked into dealer for 3rd May, they said they'd need it for a day to source noise issue. In the meantime I had reported issue to Renault UK, got a call back from them and they are contacting dealer and want car in for 3 days now. Arranging courtesy car etc. Even though they've "Never had anything like this before." I presume it's a standard industry response. My previous car was a Nissan Quashqai '64 plate with the panoramic roof as per Kadjar, no issue with noise from roof even when driven through storm Doris. Do Sunderland fit a better roof than France? Hopefully will get it sorted. Despite this I do prefer the Kadjar over the Qashquai.

Mine is in wth dealer as we speak. they took it last Thursday and will be ready Wednesday. they want it for that amount of time to let the new seal set hard and to take for test drives. I have this registered with renault UK who I have to say have been very helpful. Cant wait until next week when I will hopefully have a nice whistle free drive!

My Sig developed the noise last week. Drove back from MK with my own personal fart machine sound effect. Fairly obvious it was the seal as it was part hanging off. Booked in at dealer next week. They had 'never heard of this' strangely enough.

Until it goes in I have to stop and clip it in intermittently, or go below 65mph. Got to say I am getting great economy at the mo  :-)

Update:

My Sig Nav Kadjar went in today for windscreen and top seal replacement, and sign/lane camera recalibration.

Was told it was a 2 day job (some have reported longer) but they phoned me at 5:30 to say the car is fixed, road tested and ready for collection!

Now that's what I call lightning service, completely took me by surprise! :o:lol:

just noticed the top seal is coming away from my signature nav as well, did not notice any wind noise though. Booked in for next week. They said they only need to rebond the seal. Looking here though it seems like a bigger job

Had a  chat with the technician when I picked up my Sig Nav the other day, as I said above, they just about completed the job in one working day but only because they had it from 5pm the previous evening and were able to get the windscreen fitters in first thing next morning. They definitely replaced the windscreen and said that is the only correct procedure because... (see below). I know they did too as I spotted a couple of spots of adhesive round the glass edges that they missed (got it off easily enough).

I asked him if it was design fault or poor quality control - he said it's the latter. The windscreen needs to be positioned correctly at less than one millimetre tolerance, some of them weren't and QC missed them. So it MUST be replaced and repositioned to permanently fix the problem.

Expensive error for Renault to make - My dealer's demonstrator had the same problem so they were well aware of it. The camera alignment gear they need to use each time plus operative training  is pretty expensive too!

Fairly pissed off with my dealer. Took it in a fortnight ago with seal hanging off, they booked me in for today because 'we need to get windscreen experts in".
Took it early today, got a call this aft:
"We need to reschedule, we need to book windscreen experts"
" I thought you HAD booked windscreen experts?"
"Techy thought he could re-seat it without"
"So he could have done that 2 weeks ago, instead, I have driven around for 2 weeks with my own personal fart sound effect machine"
So they now reckon they have it sorted for next week, with extra days booked 'in case they break the screen when removing / replacing'.
Meanwhile, my drive down south and back next week is in a frickin TWINGO

My dealer were much better and booked the windscreen specialists to coincide with a Clio availability after I refused a Twingo. Like chalk and cheese those two!

Is this more a less exactly at 70mph? I have found that mine does a loud whistling noise?

It's been going on for a few months (only owned since september) and have been putting up with it but if this is a genuine issue i may as well take it in to the shop!

speed and outside wind conditions make it vary - however take car to about (70 + 5 mph) and with palm of left hand push up on roof console (where light buttons are) and i could make mine whistle.

But as ever - tell dealer its got loud whistle when driving and they know what to do 🤞

Well the noise mad a re-appearance today on my way home so started playing with the vents etc - however i found that the noise is inside/behind the seatbelt warning unit in the headlining. I gently pushed upwards and the noise went away.....

Any chance you can try that the next time yours plays a tune steve??

I did mainly find it was in windier conditions (but not gales!)

so does this sound like the thing?

will try and take it down the a38 later and try pushing on the screen a little.

Well that's 100% to the note/screech the same as what I have!

dealer shop job do we reckon?

They usually take car in for 3 days - will give a courtesy car but the have to get autoglass windscreen specialists in to remove and refit window. Fixed mine and others 100%!

Keep us posted

Took mine in on a Wednesday at 5pm and they phoned me at 5:30 the next day to say it was all done and ready for collection. Took me by surprise and I was too far away to collect it that day before 6, had to go in the next morning!

Think they phoned autoglass etc. on the Wednesday evening to get them in first thing on Thursday.
