  1. Sat Nav Post Code

I had a run over the "old" Forth Bridge to Fife on Friday testing the Sat Nav as I took a slightly unusual route and apart from the newly built road system for the Queensferry Crossing, roads and routes seem up to date now. Postcodes also seem to be working correctly now with proper spacing entry. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  2. Sat Nav Post Code

I just got my Kadjar back from the dealer, 3rd or 4th visit and they said they needed the car for 2 days to investigate the Sat Nav problem. I got a courtesy car yesterday at about 12pm, drove home (about 11 miles) and added £10 of petrol to this courtesy Astra. I was called at about 5pm yesterday to be told that my K was ready to collect with everything remedied with the Sat Nav. I took the Astra to them just before 12pm today and retrieved my Kadjar. I had just started to get "used" to the Vauxhall but the phrase "chalk and cheese" comes to mind... the Renault feels so much safer to drive and much comfier. On looking at the service sheet, the actual time for this "fix" was 1 hour and 41 minutes so 1 day courtesy hire and several visits to the dealer. (probably about a weeks worth of time.) so now all seems to be working correctly but I will keep my eye out on the Sat Nav situation (maps etc.). So far so good! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  3. Motability

First from Renault on the scheme was a Clio in 1995 followed by 4 Scenics but the best to date is the 1.5 Kadjar since May 2016. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  4. Sat Nav Woes

Sat Nav only for advice, you don't need to follow if you know better route. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  5. Sat Nav Post Code

My Kadjar was new in May 2016, sat nav etc worked properly until updated during first service on 13th April 2017. Now "no map coverage for current location" and I had it back to Dealer on the 13th June for "investigation" which took some hours. The result of this was "no solution" and now I'm told that they will need the car for two days at a possible cost of over £200 if the problem is "my fault" which is puzzling because I removed all of my own "modifications" (dash cam and reverse camera) before the 13th April. The dealer's service record shows that everything was "green" and I was told that the battery was at "80%" which was alright". I drove the car for two weeks and everything seemed OK. I hadn't any reason to look at the maps but when I tried to show someone directions, I got the above no coverage" message. Booked the so called "investigation" on the 13th of June and still no solution. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  6. There is a setting for this on the central display so have a look, I can't remember exactly where but I found this a year ago when I got my Kadjar. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  7. LifeShine Failure

I have had my K for 1 year now, it has been washed once before collection and then a second time when it went for its annual service. Both times at my dealership and never washed in between. The Flame Red colour always looks good and never seems to collect dirt despite being used most days in all weather. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  8. How many kadjars around you

If you watch Coronation Street carefully there's sometimes a flame red K on the screen. I have seen this at least twice so it is good publicity! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  9. I took my K to my dealers today (Thursday 13th April) for its first service and was informed that there was a recall indicated to do with the R-link 2. This service took about 2 hours and the car was green on all tests. When I drove home, my Galaxy S7 edge connected without any problems and no intervention such as reconnecting the Bluetooth. There was an immediate response from the phone and it is running the latest (android 7.1.2). No proper connection before the service but now everything works as it should so I assume that the software update has made all the difference. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  10. Watching movies

An update on my previous posts as I have now working displays from rear/cameras and I also have a useful dashcam mounted behind the rear-view mirror and attached to the screen. I have used piggy-back connectors from the multimedia fuse near the steering wheel power the cameras and displays. I also used RCA connectors for front and rear cameras. Previously I had used a wireless setup for the rear number plate mounted camera but I changed this to a wired setup now as I found it quite easy to hide the longer RCA cable under the interior panels and I think I have less interference using this. I have used the wireless setup for the front mounted camera at the moment because of some difficulty accessing the passenger compartment from the engine bay so that I can run the necessary cables. Everything works well with this setup and I have been trying various positions for mounting the display so that it doesn't interfere with the driver's view, It is easy to switch between the default rear view and the front camera. In addition to the above setup I also have mounted a dashcam behind the rear-view mirror taking its power supply via a step-down (12 to 5 volt) transformer mounted in the glove-box to connect to the dashcam via USB. I managed to hide all the cabling behind paneling and under trims.

  12. Ordered

I received my Dynamite Nav 1.5 dci 110 on the 28th of May this year and I have added front and rear cameras along with a Dash cam which I find to be very useful. I have spent less than £100 on all of this kit and once I worked out how to tap into the car's wiring it has all been very worthwhile. I don't have moving guidelines but that hasn't been any hardship and I now find parking very easy without having to pay for Renault extras. Also my Dash cam gives me a means of recording all events daily and these are all saved to my computer after each day which makes interesting viewing! Sent from my SM-T555 using Tapatalk
  13. Keycard?

Sometimes batteries can be faulty, I'd replace this and check the condition of the old battery... maybe you have just been unlucky. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

  15. Watching movies

I collected my Kadjar on the 28th of May 16 but I'm afraid that it isn't possible to watch films without fitting an extra display (which I have done to add forward and reverse cameras). My own installation makes this possible as the display has dual rca video inputs but I don't know about the legality of watching films if the K is in motion. If I want to watch anything when I'm parked, I just use my android tablet and anyway my tablet is more up to date than Kadjar version of software being used. Use the R-link software to check for map updates etc which is described in the Kadjar owner handbook and this can also be found using links on this Forum. Feel free to contact me here if I can help with descriptions of additional display I used and it is possible so good luck with your Kadjar and stay legal! Sent from my SM-N920F using Tapatalk
