     this is what's happening
i have decided the problem here is choice some of the members can't decide a simple concept of voting, looking at the view rate to votes, well it doesn't take a genius to see that.
so i am deleting my posts the vote, the domain choice everything.
the two members have registered their domains and are building the sites they wish to offer.
members will be able to choose the site they want from what's on offer.  when they are completed
this will be up for 1 week
after that, i will stop modorating this site, I will be moving to the new site and invite everyone to come with me.
i invite all members to copy the topics they feel are the most important and paste them to the new site. crap posts will be deleted
i have copies of all the pdf and links to video files and will be posting those to the site, so its the members images that need to be moved.
i will put links to the new site around the old one so people will know where we have gone
i will send MM my resignation and that will be my job done here. I have been offered an Admin post on the new site, this i am considering at the moment.
this site might keep ticking along until the fees are due or it will crash. without moderation this could be sooner rather than later.
I have done my best to keep this site going and its the best option i can offer. i would like to thank you for the support you have given me over the time I have been Moderator.

Use Toolbox on your PC rather than connecting straight from the R Link in the car which needs a good telephone signal anyway.

duracel3634 reacted to Swiss in 8 days, 10 countries, 2700 miles, How was it?
OK, so done a little road trip around Europe for a week, took in 10 countries and quote a bit of mileage so I have now given the Kadjar a good run in. So, I now have a very clear picture of the car and the good and bad that it entails. If you saw a british plated Kadjar around Europe then it was likely me !!

First off, the car is, for me, extremely comfy to drive for a long distance. It eats the miles and I am not sore, nor tired. I did home to Switzerland on day 1, with a couple of hour ferry break and an hour nap in a service station and felt good afterwards.

Setting the profile to a European on worked well having kilometres as units. However, bug #1 noted on the trip is that the units are all fine, speed cameras etc all conform however the trip, mileage and mpg all remains in miles. This really should be set to km, kmpg etc. Minor, but noted.

Switching the lights is a simple quarter turn with a screwdriver and not 1 flash from blinding others.

Fuel is good. 43 gallons and not too many fuel stops over the full 2700 miles. Comes out on the trip as about 56 mpg.

The cup holders are the right size for me, however, I have to use the passenger holder as they do have a tendency to get int he way of my arm for the gear changes.

Clutch is light and smooth and the cruise control works wonderfully well. I did find that I would have liked a blind spot mirror on the passenger side to improve visibility.

I have found that the gap between the door and the driver seat is perfect for a 2 litre bottle of water. Kept a the right angle and nice and snug :-)

Radio is good enough, but I still remain unconvinced on the reception being good enough. However, it was never a concern.

Had 1 point where the system went into night mode in a tunnel with the lights coming on and never coming out of it until I stopped and restarted (IT have you tried turning it off and  on again)

Seats to like to catch the crumbs

Glove box is a tardis, but could do with a light. As could the boot. Needed the phone torch light at times in there. However, the false floor is great to put delicate items when the boot is full and not wanting to squash things.

The cruising autobahn speeds is spot on with no stress on the engine. Air-con keeps the car at the right temp when 34 degrees outside.

Had a surprise when after 6.5k on the clock (miles) the oil warning came on. I had been checking and not and a drop so was a shock to get hit with it and the 1litre of freebie oil is now gone and needs replacing

My biggest gripe is the sat nav. It got to the point of being infuriating. maps are badly out of date. I like the updates on the changing countries and updates to speeds and rules etc. The out of date maps materialise with no mapping for your location alerts. Twice it got the destination wrong. Once by 5km in the wrong direction and google maps was reverted to. It also has a massive, and I mean massive, flaw in the event detour. It keeps notifying of a route that is better, even though I am set to only give me an update if it saves me an hour or more. Totally ignored. It offered a route to miss a 5 mile jam by rerouting me over 200 km and 2.5 hours. That it thought was a better option and as mentioned before no matter telling to ignore the jam, cancelling the notification it kept coming back every few minutes. Add to that if it sees a camera it constantly says reduce your speed even when I was not speeding. These make it basically unusable as a sat nav.

However, overall it was a dream to drive on the road trip. Issues I had are minor, apart from the sat nav which I truly dislike. It works as a whole, but has some minor software glitches that cause a major (major) usability issue.

I've come away even more happy with my car purchase, but I really would like car manufacturers to allow me to upload my own apps, sat nav etc and have proper map updates and such like. The enforced and restricted Rlink could be more open with me replacing OEM apps with better ones.

So, thats's about it. Lovely car, lovely week away, nice long drive and a good shakedown.

Well I have been reading these post here since I ordered My Kadjar  a couple of months ago, and to be honest most of the posts on here complaining about the poor build of the car and wind noises rattles ect oh and not forgetting the complaints about this aweful  R link thingy, It really made me think I had wasted nearly 21 Grand on a heap of junk/
Well your all wrong ! Mine is a lovely quiet smooth drive, if you can use a mobile the R Link is simple to understand and does what its meant to, the Sat Nav I admit only used it half a dozen times but it took me to exactly where I wanted to go, all my Gadgity things work very well, but I did sit and read the Manual, and I went into the settings in the R Link and turned some off and turned some on changed themes  & colours.
I have had many top end cars over the years and I for one am really Happy with mine.

    Hi,

well I have a few niggles, but only really sat nav map slightly out of date (think mine is Sept last year) and the bluetooth issue. All else works fine for me and I've git 2k miles oh the clock, checked oil and no burn there.

The only issue I've really had is the dog throwing up on the missus in the passenger seat (see another thread) and I personally blame the missus :-)

I can only speak for eco mode in my van, as I have not tried it in my car yet, but I only gain an additional 2 to 3 miles a gallon with the van diesel engine. Also use the start/stop function more which might help

Mine, which has the same engine as yours, is averaging around 33 mpg which has involved town and rural driving. The engine high rev is due to the hill start assist, my van also does it. I have not tried mine in eco mode yet which might improve economy very slightly

Well after pretty much 3 months from ordering from Lifestyle Renault Eastbourne, I have now taken possession of my Diamond Black Manual 1.2 TCE Kadjar with the Tech Pack option and retractable tow bar.

So it was ordered on 27th February 2016 with a EDDD (Estimated delivery date to dealer) of 10th May 2016 and a deposit of £250 was paid.

The build did not occur until April.

Arrived at Southampton 25th April where the Tow Bar was fitted and still had EDDD of 10th May. I was also asked whether Renault could register the car on the 30th April, some kind of Policy Renault UK have but they can't do it without your approval. Yes the warranty does start at the registration date however, yet to receive confirmation letter, the warranty will be extended by 27 days due to my delivery date.

Advised on the 6th May by Sales Rep that the there will be a delivery to dealer delay to between 13th and 18th May as the Alarm was not fitted at the factory. My understanding, not from the Rep, that the factory had run out of alarms so this will also be fitted at Southampton.

On the 9th May the Sales Rep advised me that the system was now showing an EDDD of the 16th May.

On the 17th May I was advised by the Sales Rep that the EDDD had been revised to 19th May, which unfortunately is his day off. He will contact me again of 20th May to give an update.

So the 19th came and went and the Sales Rep contacted me on the 20th to give me the bad news, car did not arrive. New date showing on the system is now 25th May.

Late afternoon on the 23rd May the Sales Rep phoned to say It has arrived and it will me in the workshop in the morning for the inspection and buff up. Due to my working commitments I advised him that the earliest I could collect would be Friday Morning, 27th May so it was arranged for 09:00 hrs.

After all the boring stuff at the dealer for the hand over and paying the balance of £21 950, I do not want to know if I got screwed, drove the approx 15 miles home.

Trying to get freebies out of dealers is not easy, probably not a skill of mine, but I got the following:

Jewelultra Diamondbrite Paint and Fabric Protection process and Premium Plus Pack, Retail £399.......FOC
    Full Tank of Petrol....FOC
Bunch of Flowers for the Wife.....FOC
Set up my android phone to the R-Link, something Reps feel they need to do, Bless....

Car had approx 19 miles on the clock when I took delivery.

The whole experience with the individual Sales Rep was excellent, I was kept informed through the whole process, contacted on the prearranged days throughout and was not sold anything I did not want. I did go in with the idea of getting the 4x4 version but was talked out of it on the basis of where I live and how little mileage I do in a year, the wife joined in this debate as well so I gave in! If I had anything to bitch about, it would be directed to Renault themselves and NOT the dealer.

I have now set up My Renault on the Renault's website and done the business with R-Link 2 as well.

So now the fun starts, lets see what all the criticism is about that I have seen occasionally in this Forum.

My first driving experience of my new car I didn't like at all, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT, responsive, quiet engine, just don't play with the bells and whistles while driving, had to pull over before I had an accident!

I seem to remember somewhere in this Forum someone saying the Bose System is quiet, well turn up your deaf aid or get one. Also I believe someone was critical of the quality of sound, personally for a sound system that comes with a car as standard, so I was not expecting anything totally out of this world, I feel it totally meets my expectations and some. If you want a quality, quality system just get a custom job if you feel it is that bad.
