  1. Looking to buy a Kadjar auto

The car is great . R-Link 2 as the car's computer controlling everything is great too, except navigation. Google maps on our mobiles can have at least 1 to 2 updates a month, but my R-Link 2 after 6 months, no updates. Worst is, no Android Auto nor Apple CarPlay. Even better, I've read in this forum, there are many pre-May 2017 owners who are very angry because they don't have access to Android Auto nor Apple CarPlay because the built-in navigation without map updates is useless, but there are post-May 2017 owners who have them, but don't like them. What an irony? In fact, yesterday night, I was on WhatsApp with my car salesman grumbling about lousy Renault on this navigation stuff, and he told me he has Friends who has Apple CarPlay and doesn't like it. He suggested I try Apple CarPlay myself. Over the weekend, I read an article on Audi's latest car technology but one sentence by the writer put a deep impression on me. It's something along the line of "A car's technology instantly becomes obsolete the day you buys it". It is so true. Any newer technology after that will never be able to be available to existing cars out of the factory. Ain't this actually what we are facing? Honestly, I've more or less accepted this, and now just rely on my iPhone 7 plus for my car navigation. Hopefully in the future, I can own a Navdy or Kivic SM. Sent from my MI PAD using Tapatalk
  2. add r link later

I think it’s best to purchase a 3rd party Android Auto stereo system over R-Link, since your current Kadjar car features is likely not able to integrate with it. Not sure even if Renault will allow an R-Link to be added too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Android Auto

I've given up on Renault! Check out the alternatives! http://renaultkadjarforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/3128-Forget-Android-Auto-and-Apple-CarPlay,-Navdy Sent from my MI Pad using Tapatalk
  4. Forget Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Navdy

Exploride: Looks interesting, but will it really come true! Hope so, for those who had backed it by pre-order. Good luck guys. Sent from my MI Pad using Tapatalk
  5. Forget Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Navdy

Just found another similar product from Korea. Kivic SM HUD, launched a few months back, cheaper than the Navdy. http://list.qoo10.sg/item/BRAND-KIVIC-HUD-WIRELESS-SMART-HEAD-UP-DISPLAY-FOR-EVERY-CAR/510733060 Sent from my MI PAD using Tapatalk
  6. We've been talking about how bad Renault's way of treating us early Kadjar adopter, not bringing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to us. In fact, I got mine in December 2016, just 6 months ago. On a hindsight, even if they make it available for us as a refit, it would probably cost USD 500? Is that option better than Navdy? https://www.navdy.com/#see-the-road Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How many kadjars around you

Where I stay, I've seen a white and gray. On my way to work, I've seen one or two, can't remember their colors though. Basically I'm seeing more and more on the roads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Reading Text message

You need to go into Bluetooth and allow notifications. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Does your iPod has Bluetooth? That's another option. Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
  10. Speed Limiter

I've not used both before and was thinking of what should be the use cases. Speed limiter, I can understand but not cruise control. Do you mean that you set it at the speed limit of the open road, or a bit higher than the speed limit? If it's above, basically the car is driving above speed limit? 11. Roomy back seats?

The main reason I bought this was the fuel economy. Understand the Eco function and display, follow the Eco tips and rip the benefits of using less fuel and saving money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Map Updates

You have Waze on your R-Link 2? How new is your car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Map Updates

While waiting hopelessly for Android Auto for the R-Link 2, which looks like it will not be available for the existing R-Link 2, I had dug out my Xiaomi Mi Pad (no GPS), upgraded it to LineageOS 14.1 ROM (not from Xiaomi), bought an used Garmin GLO Portable GPS and GLONASS Receiver (Bluetooth), paired it and installed a Bluetooth GPS app (remember to set Mock Location app in Settings, Developer Options, to this app) so that the NMEA GPS coordinates will pass over to the Mi Pad and I have started using Google Map and Android Auto (apk) in my Kadjar. Android Auto on R-Link 2 or not, it doesn't matter anymore. Sent from my MI PAD using Tapatalk Sent from my MI PAD using Tapatalk
  14. Kadjar Annoyances

It does take some efforts from us to get use to keyless engine world. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. R-Link

If the update was successful, and you don't have another USB thumb drive for your music and pictures, look into the USB thumb drive in your computer, delete away the map file. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
